My new blog posts will be writings - and maybe ramblings - about the beauty that is found in the world around us and the beauty we can create in our own lives.

While drinking my morning tea the other day, I found myself thinking about how beautiful it is to stand in silence next to an old horse who I have known and a special feeling of a sense of myself I feel no where else.

I thought about my dog, Hawk, who is a really, really good dog. We love each other and he trusts me completely. 

That, too, is very beautiful to know and experience.

Birds are a pure delight to me.  I collect the big fallen feathers of hawks and the wild turkeys that live in my neighborhood.  I even named my home "Hawk's Nest" and my studio is "Hawk's Nest Studio" and a sign I made for the entrance to my home has Job 39:26-27.

And then there are babies.  There is no greater expression of love and innocence than a newborn baby.  When I think of newborns I always remember standing in a shepherd's cave in Israel, much like Jesus was likely born in, and how intensely moved I was realizing that even the Son of God was born into the loving care of his parents and God's protection over his completely dependent life.

My writings will be about my faith, my art, creativity, horses, dogs, birds, and babies - and how they change my life for the better.
